The Number One Option for Roofing in Dorset
What’s the point of scaffolding?
Scaffolding is just one of many important considerations when it comes to roof replacements, it isn’t just a needless eyesore on your home or commercial property. Far from it. It provides roofers with safe, temporary access to your roof. The structure can also support materials, allowing roofers to work from the top of the scaffold.
While it might seem inconvenient for you simply because of its appearance and cost, scaffolding is necessary for the health and safety of roofers as it makes a roof replacement safer. It is also in your best interest as yourself and the business owner could find yourselves could be prosecuted should an accident
happen where scaffolding was not used but was necessary.
Is it necessary?
As you can imagine, the answer to whether or not scaffolding is necessary is a clear yes. The only time when scaffolding isn’t needed for a roofing job is when the roof can be safely accessed from inside the building, with stairs up to a flat roof for example or a low-pitched roof.
There are also some instances where scaffolding isn’t suitable. On particularly awkward, hard-to-reach areas or buildings with more than two storeys, a powered access program might be a better option. Typically reaching up to 90 feet, it is a quicker and more cost-effective option when access is difficult and
for emergency jobs.
